Appliance Testing Each appliance is comprehensively tested to meet the exacting requirements of the IEE code of practice for in-service Inspection  and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Hooper Services Ltd uses the latest technology to carry out this work which means that we are able to test any equipment that you might have in your building. All inspection and testing is carried out by fully trained engineers. How Often Must Equipment be tested The level of inspection and testing is dependent on the risk of the appliance becoming faulty. For example: If you have an electric hand tool that is used on a daily basis by a number of different people, in theory the        requirement to get it tested on a more frequent basis would be greater than a computer that is sat on a desk and only used by one person. Hooper Services Ltd would recommend that most portable electrical appliances are tested at least once per year, more if it is felt necessary. We would be happy to give advice at the time. All equipment that has been tested and inspected must be clearly identifiable. This is usually achieved by labelling the equipment with a PAT testing label. This label contains the following information:    1.  The status of the equipment following testing ie. PASS or FAIL    2.  A unique code to enable equipment to be identified    3.  The date the equipment is required to be re-tested This information is designed to enable the equipment to be easily identifiable even if several items of a similar type are present on the same premises. The information will also indicate to a non technical user when the next test is due or if equipment should not be used. Reports & Certification On completion of the testing you will be issued with a safety certificate and a detailed report that provides information on each individual item. All items that pass the inspection and test will be labelled with a safety sticker and will be given a unique ID number that helps both you and Hooper Services Ltd keep track of the items in your company. Repairs Minor faults (replacement fuse, replacement plug or cable) found during the course of the PAT test can be repaired at the time. More serious faults will be reported to the customer, and a quote for repair will be produced.
